Day 12. Last night after posting the blog, I received the Radiology report on my knee. Seems I have, as suspected, torn my meniscus and my posterior cruciate ligament. That means an arthroscopy sometime in the future. I had to forward the report to the ship’s Dr who has decided that, yes, I should seek further advice from an Orthopaedic Surgeon about an Arthroscopic operation asap.
Not much happened today. My conscientious wife was up and at the gym at 0600 this morning. True! It wasn’t on purpose but. She woke up and bleary eyed she misread the clock. She thought it was an hour later.
Breakfast was a fantastic Eggs “Benny” with sliced leg ham and freshly squeezed orange juice in the Windjammer Cafe. We took in a movie and a talk on cartography (Pt II – we had Pt I yesterday). After tea 8 of the 10 people at our dining table (table 29) joined in for a game of “Cards Against Humanity”. Thankfully we were not asked to leave the ship and much laughter was had by all.
Day 13. Big sleep in today before breaky at 0930. I thought during the night I felt a bump in the night. Sure enough we had crossed the equator during sleep time. As such we received a certificate which is nothing compared to what some of the crew copped. Called “Pollywogs”, new crew members who have not been across the equator before are initiated by King Neptune and his cronies. They were covered in spaghetti, flour and other culinary delights before being given permission to continue their journey aboard Legend.
