When the taxi stopped in front of our two amoured Guardians of the Universe outside of our condo we knew we were home.  It was a relief having woken at 0400 to catch the plane from Bali we were pretty knackered and it was around 1800 now.  Tania had the afternoon off so was home to meet us and we had a quick catch up before tea.

We unpacked and crashed and slept solid for 10 hours.  In the morning it was a case of make a shopping list and sort out our gear.  We headed first to Komtar to the bank to hit the ATM. We had heaps of cash on us but it was either Indian Rupee, Indo Rupiah, Singapore Dollars or Aussie none of which will cut it at the local shop.  From there we cut back to Gama for our grocery shopping then cart it all back home.  Fortunately Komtar & Gama are only a few hundred meters from home and it wasn’t a real hot day.

We were having trouble catching up with our mate Craig who had kindly been minding two bags for us while we had our quick trip back home.  We had to join with him soon to get our bags as they had our necessities for everyday living rather than travel goods.  Luck was on our side after tea as we checked his condo on the way back to our apartment and he was home.  A few beers later and we were again back in our unit unpacking the bags we had left here3 months ago.  OMG! We have so much gear here it is not funny.  Anyway we are now set up for another 4 month stay here in “The Pearl of the Orient”.

I’m still a bit tired from the big day yesterday so I’ll end it here with a few pics (above) from our earlier sojourn in Penang.

Cheers

Garry
